Over the last few weeks I have been trying to juggle a tumblelog and a weblog, which I started writing recently. My juggling skills just aren’t good enough, so I have decided to suspend posting on Shashin-etc and to focus on blogging over at www.eyecurious.com. Demotix is a “citizen-journalism website and photo agency. It takes user-generated content (UGC) and photographs from freelance journalists and amateurs, and markets them to the mainstream media.” Interesting to see this kind of agency starting to pop up, hopefulyl will really widen the spectrum of the news, but it does seriously concern me that this might be what replaces journalism....

Afghan Hearts and Minds on a 5D Mark II
There has been a lot of excitement in the blogosphere about Canon’s 5D Mark II video capacity. I am not a big fan of these online frothings about technology, but I was curious to see how this technology might start working in photographers’ hands. This is the first time I have seen it used by a photo-journalist, Danfung Dennis, who thankfully seems equally as concerned by the subject...
Theme update
I have just changed my tumblr theme for the umpteenth time. I actually quite liked the design of the previous one but it was way too buggy and this new one comes recommended by the almighty Matthew Buchanan so it must be good.
